Who we are

Strong Towns Buffalo is Buffalo’s all-volunteer and independent local chapter of the national Strong Towns movement. We are a community of Buffalonians working to make our city more walkable, livable, and financially resilient.

We believe Buffalo should be designed for people of all ages and abilities, with safe streets, strong neighborhoods, and a thriving downtown and main streets that support local businesses.

We focus on practical, incremental changes that add up: better bus stops and sidewalks, safer crossings, housing choices that fit every stage of life, and public investments that deliver real value. Join us to learn, share ideas, meet neighbors, and take action. Together, we’re building a stronger Buffalo one block at a time.

The Strong Towns national organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit media advocacy organization. It produces content that analyzes the failures of the post-war North American development pattern while giving citizens the knowledge and tools to start making our places better today.
